Over Labor Day Weekend we went to Iowa to visit our awesome Slingluff side of the family. We went to an Iowa Cubs baseball game where we got free t-shirts and ate lots of ballpark food. Of course we ate some yummy ribs and ribeyes at "That Place". I love my families!

Made tons of memories at Thanksgiving with my family. My Granny is doing so much better. She is out of the wheelchair and just bounces around with her sporty little walker. She is amazing! There were lots of tears this year as remembered Granddaddy, but lots of great memories were made with our family. Granny even made her famous yeast rolls.
After our huge Thanksgiving meal, it was time to get out mom and dad's Christmas tubs. Their bedroom was turned into Christmas central with boxes upon boxes of Santas, nut crackers and decorations that I have grown up with for years. It was crazy, but turned out beautiful!! As always.

Made a bag for all of my Wal-Mart sacks...
Learned to make some flowers for my hair...
David and I have been on a journey for 10 and 1/2 years and it has been the most wonderful trip! When we bought this house a few years ago, we started out with lots of plans to "upgrade", "update", "fix-up", etc....and we are just now starting to put some of those plans into action. Back in September, my grandparents and parents showered us with the blessing of a new roof. It took a little over a week, and a few crushed plants, but our burgundy roof changed the whole look of our home. I love it!!
Wow! I have so missed blogging. Not that I really have that much to say, but it is fun to get on here and just gab. Not to mention I love finding new blogs to look at and find new inspiration. That's all for right now. Hopefully I won't wait 6 months for my next post. I didn't even cover everything.
I will end with the fact that I have discovered that I am and "Old Soul". I love to knit, crochet, sew, watch old TV shows (Little House, The Waltons, Leave it to Beaver, Golden Girls and many, many others). I love to listen to Frank, Dean, Bing, Ella, Doris, and back to the roots...bluegrass and classical music. My house is full of antiques,family heirloom pieces and lots of retro/farmhouse yummies. I am an Old Soul and proud of it!
