Kitchen Update

I used to be one of those people who would go to check blogs every day and then get disappointed when my friends hadn't updated their blog that day. Well, I am now on the other side of that and discovered that while it is fun to blog, it does take time. My apologies to all of my friends who I have frowned at when I would look at a week old blog. I now understand and will no longer complain.

I still have several projects that I want to do around the house (i.e. make a couple curtains for my kitchen, make a St Patrick's day wallhanging, etc.), however, I find myself still wanting to rearrange things in the house. Below are some pictures of the latest transformations.

Oh Happy Day!

A little over 10 years ago, God did something so wonderful that I still can't believe it. He brought David into my life. David and I will celebrate our 8 year anniversary next month and every year has been a blessing. I started working on scrapbooking our relationship and our wedding several years ago and still am not done. During that time, however, I did get a graduation album done for my sister and have done a few other special projects, I just took some time off in the middle of working on our albums. Well, we are having a scrapbooking retreat on Friday at our church and I thought what a perfect time to get our albums back out and work on them at the retreat. While trying to organize my stuff to take with me tomorrow, I thought it would be fun to take some pictures of some pictures of us to post, and change my blog up a bit. We got married on St Patrick's day, 2001 so how appropriate to make the cabin a wee bit Irish. This has been so much fun. It is also a little scary to look at these pictures and realize how much younger we looked "back then". I wouldn't change a thing.

I walked down the isle in Nikes and wore a shamrock on my sock so that I wouldn't get pinched on St. Patrick's day.

Superbowl Party

Well, our first superbowl party in our new house went great, even if the team that we wanted to win, didn't. It sure was a great game. Of course, I had to do some cleaning and a little rearranging of some stuff to have enough room for everyone and the food. Saturday was supposed to be all about getting projects done on my list, but of course, one project on the list always turns into finding some huge thing that needs to be taken care of, which then leads to an entire day of doing things that are NOT ON MY LIST....We were changing the toilet seat in the guest bathroom, when David discovered a leak under the tank. That resulted in draining the WHOLE toilet, going to Lowes to get a Tank to Bowl kit, a wash load of wet and dirty towels, a larger mess to clean up in the bathroom, and hours away from MY LIST!!! It all turned out in the end, because as you can see from the pictures, it looks like we have a brand new toilet...with no leaks. It was a great weekend despite the unexpected fun.
Our new toilet seat and leak free tank. Look how pretty.

This is a temporary "curtain" for the utility sink. It is held on by jute and clear packing tape (I couldn't find the duck tape) :)
