Living Room Transformation

I decided to rearrange our living room today when I got home from work (at 4:30pm). Some might say, "what in the world were you thinking?" I get this way every now and then. I think that there is a better layout that is more condusive do our needs and time aside....I begin to work. Usually David is not around and it is a surprise to him (which doesn't surprise him). I only have a few pictures of what the living room looked like before.

Fun Stuff

These are my 2009 snowmen. I try to get at least one each year to add to my collection, but this year I was blessed with 5! I also try to get one Easter/Spring, one Fall and one Christmas/Santa. I don't really have a "summer collection", but I tend to be more patriotic in the summer. I actually have some americana "bunting" that I can't wait to put on our new front porch this summer. I also can't wait to plant some flowers this Spring/Summer. There are so many possibilities at our new house. I'm hoping that my mom can come out (maybe around my birthday...hint...hint...) and help me do some landscaping. She is so good at that.

Speaking of birthdays, this year I turn 30. When I write that, I kind of freak out a little. The cool thing about this year, is that it is going to be full of awesome things. New babies for friends, new jobs for others (hopefully me), and lots of fun memories. I am loving life right now. We'll deal with turning 30 when that time comes. Maybe I'll get a hippity hop (for all of you Friends fans). Or possibly a scooter.

I recently discovered a super fun show on PBS called "Sid the Science Kid". It comes on after "Curious George" at 8:30am and again at 7:00pm. I'm not sure about the weekends. I have some friends who like to watch "Ellen" and dance around (you know who you are), so I thought they might like this show too. There is singing, dancing and learning. You can't beat that. This is my attempt at taking a picture of the TV while the show was on tonight. They are so fun!!!

I'm joining the blogging community.

Well, I can't make any promises about how well I will do at blogging, but I am going to give it my best. I was watching "The Perfect Man" with some friends last weekend, and I was inspired by the daughter "journalling" about all of her moves and her mother's horrible track record with men. I have not had a lot of moves, nor do I have a horrible track record with men, but I was inspired to start blogging as a kind of journalling. God is doing some amazing things in my life right now. Dave and I will be married for 8 years in March, and we have had some major things happen in this time. The attacks on America on 9/11/01; I lost my front 2 teeth in a stupid accident in my kitchen; we moved from Indiana to Virginia and then back to Indiana within 8 months; we almost bought a house that would have been a money pit and probably caused some major problems in our lives; we bought our first house in August of 2008 which has been a huge blessing (not to mention that we moved right across the street from some of our best friends); we've had some friends have their first babies, adopt from China, get new jobs..... President Bush had 2 terms in office, President Obama took office and so much more... but... I have to take a break for right now. I can't cover 8 years in my first blog. I'm not that ambitious. I will try to get some pictures uploaded tomorrow, and start to get organized, but I think this is a good start. Well that is all for tonight.
